Origin Story

Because of his rebellion, Cain lost his brother, his relationship with God, his  home, his security, and his peace. Just as Adam and Eve were driven from the Garden because of sin, Cain was driven from his place of blessing because of his sin.  Yet even here we see the mercy of God. Though Cain deserved immediate death, God placed a mark of protection upon him. Even in judgment, God showed grace. Genesis 4 reminds us that we are all a story.  The question is: Will we let God hold the pen, or will we let sin write the next chapter?  -Scot Caley
