Messy Faith

God called Abraham out from a normal life into something that would be greater than he could possibly imagine. Through his life

we can see 3 things that we can count on when God calls us to "go" into the world.

First when God says "go" things will not be comfortable. Abraham's life was marked with difficulty and struggle, and we should not be surprised when our walk with the Lord is the same.

Second, when God says "go" he promises to be with us. God made several promises to Abraham, but each of these required God's active presence in Abraham's life. When we step out into the unknown we can count on the fact that God will always be with us.

Third, when God says "go" the results are better than we can imagine. God's final promise to Abraham was that all the families of the Earth will be blessed by him. He could not foresee what God would do, ultimately, when Jesus came into the world, but he didn't need to. All he needed to do was trust in God.

In our own walk we need to re member that the ultimate results of our faithfulness far outreach what we could possibly imagine. -Matt Crossman
